Life Skills Assessment

I have sent out 3 life skills assessment pages. I would like you to look at the skills on each page and decide if you are

- independent in that skill

- need some assistance

- or you don’t know.

Virtual Cross-curricular session with Eileen

This weeks virtual session is Functional Literacy and Numeracy together.

We will be completing a scavenger hunt to find items in your house. If you can Zoom on a phone or iPad, it may make things easier but not a problem if not.

Cross-curricular session

Look at the lockdown diary sent last week. Have a go at completing some more pages. This will be a great reminder in the future of what we have all been through during his pandemic.

Community Based Projects- Working in a Care Home/The Elderly.

During this topic we would normally have been visiting care homes and completing work experience. During these sessions you would have been completing various skills within the care home.

Please complete these skills in your own home instead:

  • Make some buns (see recipe attached)
  • Do some gardening or plant a bulb
  • Make the bed
  • Make a cup of tea/coffee
  • Fold/hang some items of clothing.

Computing

VIRTUAL SESSION  Computing

During lockdown, virtual sessions have become very important. In today’s virtual session we are going to have some fun!!

I am going to teach you some fun tricks on Zoom. Please try and use a tablet or laptop for this session as it just makes it easier. Not a problem if not!.

Citizenship- Topic- Friendships

Look at the resources provided in the email. Look at the photos of various situations and discuss what is happening in the photo. Decide if the photo show a friendly or unfriendly manner.

Can you think of a time when you were friendly and unfriendly?

Tutorials

I would like all learners to attend the tutorial session each morning at 9:30am. It is a good session for all learners to see all other learners and staff and is also helpful for advocates as I go through the days sessions and resources.
